Nanking Cherry
Dense, twiggy, deciduous shrub that infrequently grows as a small tree. Dark green leaves with pointed tips. White to light pink flowers in early spring, followed by red fruits in June-July. Fruit is edible but of variable quality ranging from tart to sweet. Birds love the fruit. Needs a second plant for cross-pollination.
